Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Daily Salaah website or Progressive Web App, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service overview

Daily Salaah helps you track the five daily prayers, mark Qasr where applicable, manage missed prayers as Qadhā, review recent streak and trend summaries, and sync signed-in data across devices. The app is provided as a personal tracking tool.

3. Accounts and guest mode

You may use Daily Salaah with an email/password account, Google sign-in, or guest mode. You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Guest mode is intended for temporary or single-device use; guest data may not be recoverable if the guest session, browser storage, or device data is cleared.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

• provide accurate account information where required;
• use the app only for lawful, personal, non-abusive purposes;
• not attempt unauthorized access to the app, Firebase resources, or user data;
• not scrape, overload, interfere with, reverse engineer, or bypass app security;
• keep your own backup notes if a prayer record is especially important to you.

5. Religious and personal-use disclaimer

Daily Salaah is a tracking aid only. It does not provide religious rulings, legal advice, or a determination of your religious obligations. You are responsible for deciding how to record prayers, Qasr, missed prayers, and Qadhā. If you are unsure, consult a qualified scholar or trusted religious authority.

6. Data accuracy, sync, and offline use

The app includes offline-capable PWA behavior and may keep changes locally until the connection is restored. Sync can be delayed, interrupted, or affected by browser storage limits, device settings, Firebase availability, network conditions, or user error. We do not guarantee that every local, guest, or offline record can be recovered.

7. Privacy and analytics

Your use of Daily Salaah is governed by the Privacy Policy. Analytics is optional and consent-based. You can manage analytics consent in Settings.

8. Third-party services

Daily Salaah depends on third-party services including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA v3, Google Sign-In, and Google Analytics 4. These services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, availability limits, security controls, and data processing terms.

9. Intellectual property

Daily Salaah, its design, branding, source code, visual style, and content are owned by Daily Salaah or its licensors, except for third-party services, libraries, fonts, and assets that remain owned by their respective owners. You may not copy, resell, or commercially exploit the service without permission.

10. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also release updates that change features, data handling, or supported devices and browsers. We are not responsible for loss caused by service interruptions or changes outside our reasonable control.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, create security risk, violate applicable law, or interfere with other users or the service. You may stop using Daily Salaah at any time and may request deletion of account data as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

Daily Salaah is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Daily Salaah will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or religious/personal records arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Daily Salaah harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, unlawful conduct, or infringement of another person's rights.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the service will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts, unless applicable consumer law gives you mandatory rights in another jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the app, law, third-party services, or business needs. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Daily Salaah after changes means you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
